“Sean Collins, Surfline’s founder, suffered a hear attack on December 26th while playing tennis in Orange County and passed away in the hospital shortly afterwards.” – Surfline
“Sean’s many accomplishments in surf science and forecasting made him one of the most influential surfers of our time.” – Surfline
When asked recently if there was a secret to his success, Collins responded, “Really simple things when you think about it. Mostly just follow your passion, try to be a really good person and a good judge of character, and then just surround yourself with a great team and really good people. Add lots of luck and all kinds of great things can happen!”
The world of surfing has lost an incredibly influential brother. Rest in peace! As a surfer with a desk jockey job, surfline has provided a great escape, and helped plan many surf trips that have changed my life forever. Traveling to surf destinations has helped shape who I am as a person. Sean you are a direct influence on the lifestyle of many surfers around the world. Thank you for being awesome.
