Surf Ride came out in full force to partner with the Rip Curl posse for a dawn patrol highlighted by glazed donuts, fresh E3 body rubber, shoulder-high skatepark conditions at Ponto, and not to mention performances from a couple of the world’s finest power lifters, Kekoa Bacalso and Pancho Sullivan.

Friday, May 1 was the official Surf Ride/Rip Curl E3 Demo Day, where the entire Surf Ride staff, customer database, and the general public alike were invited to mix it up at South Ponto, Carlsbad with Rip Curl’s A-Team, while enjoying the satisfaction of test driving a brand new E3 wettie.

Ponto straight up delivered, as a shoulder to head high combo swell flexed its biceps enough for the boys to demonstrate their World Tour caliber skills. 2007 ASP World Tour #7 Pancho Sullivan, now enjoying his new focus of freesurfing and swell hunting, delivered some sound-deafening massacre hacks in the process.

“This was killer,” Panch later said. “The waves were good, the crew from Surfride was ripping, and I’m stoked I was a part of it.”

2009 current ASP World Tour #9, Kekoa “Bam” Bacalso lit up Ponto as well, just hours before hopping on a plane to Tahiti for the 3rd stop of the Tour. “The new wetsuits are cherry,” stated Bam. “I’m stoked to get a surf in with the boys from SR.”

Big thanks to Rip Curl for putting the event on. Click on the slideshow below to see the photos from the event.
