Dane has been ripping on some new stubby short kine boards that CI cut for him. Here’s the lowdown on the name, and ideology behind them.
“We shaped a short stubby square tail for Dane to ride in Mexico on his quiksilver photo trip with Kelly and Julian about two weeks ago. It was nicknamed Dumpster Diver because we literally had to wrestle the garbage man for the old yellow square block of eps foam that we were about to toss. This board was shaped out of that raw blank of foam by hand. The machine was down that day so or we would of cut a stubby version of the Flyer on it to achieve basically the same concept but had no choice but to do it this way.” -blog.cisurfboards.com

CI hasn’t said if they plan on pumping out Dumpster Divers for users like you or I, however keep your eyes peeled for DDs to show up in stores. I know I’m keen for one.
